Is there an app that tells you about places as you drive past them?
Yes. AI TourMate is a GPS-based AI audio tour guide for iOS and Android. With GPS auto mode on, it narrates the landmarks you approach — towns, castles, churches, natural sights — automatically and in 14 languages, without you choosing a tour.
Do I need to plan a route or download a tour?
No. The app works from your current location, so it follows wherever you drive. If you'd like to plan ahead, the Tour Planning feature suggests routes connecting several landmarks — but it's optional.
Does it work without mobile signal?
You need a connection to generate a new story. Stories you've already generated can be played offline, so if you're heading somewhere remote, generate the ones you want on Wi-Fi first.
Is it safe to use while driving?
Set the app up before you start: choose your language and turn on GPS auto mode while parked. After that, stories play without any tapping. Don't operate your phone while driving — let a passenger do it, or wait until you've stopped.
How long are the stories?
Most are 2–3 minutes — about the time it takes to pass through a small town. The exact length adjusts to how significant the place is and to your chosen age profile.
Can passengers listen in a different language?
Yes. Everyone can use the app on their own phone in their own language — 14 languages are available, from Hungarian to Japanese.
